A shooting incident in Canouan has left one man dead, according to the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF). The incident occurred on June 24, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m. at Gym Hill, Canouan.

Police responded to a report of shots being fired and discovered Daniel Vettrino, a 37-year-old Technical Services Manager of Colombia/Scotland, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing, and anyone with information that may assist the police is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit at 456-1810 or Police Control at 457-1211. The RSVGPF extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.
